University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Manager to join our renowned Cancer Clinical Trials Unit.

In this vital role, you will support the Lymphoma and Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN) team, managing data across a range of Phase Iโ€“III clinical trials. As part of a dynamic and supportive research environment, youโ€™ll play an integral role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timely reporting of clinical trial data that directly impacts the development of life-saving treatments.

This is a hybrid working role, with a combination of remote and on-site work, offering flexibility while maintaining high standards of research support.


๐ŸŽฏ Key Responsibilities

As a Data Manager, your primary duties will include:

  • Managing a dedicated portfolio of clinical trials across various phases.

  • Performing accurate and timely data entry into Case Report Forms (CRFs) in line with trial protocols.

  • Verifying data consistency, identifying discrepancies, and resolving anomalies by cross-referencing against source data and clinical norms.

  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive trial documentation, both electronically and in paper format.

  • Assisting with the set-up of new trials, including trial site files and regulatory documents.

  • Preparing documentation for monitoring visits and regulatory audits.

  • Coordinating with Principal Investigators, research nurses, laboratory staff, and trial sponsors.

  • Supporting the collection and processing of biological samples, including obtaining tumour blocks and uploading imaging data.

  • Maintaining real-time records of recruitment, trial status, and archiving for active and closed trials.

  • Escalating issues and anomalies to senior team members when appropriate.


๐Ÿง  About You โ€“ What Weโ€™re Looking For

Weโ€™re seeking someone with a passion for research, excellent organizational skills, and a strong sense of initiative. Ideally, youโ€™ll have prior experience in clinical research or data management, but we welcome applications from candidates with the right skills and enthusiasm.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in Life Sciences or related field.

  • Knowledge of clinical trial processes and ICH-GCP (International Conference on Harmonisation โ€“ Good Clinical Practice).

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize a varied workload.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word).

Desirable Criteria:

  • Familiarity with oncology, haematology, or cancer care environments.

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare or clinical research setting.

  • Experience in independently managing research projects or clinical trials.
