Description:
We are looking for a Network Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our clients’ network infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and security. You’ll play a critical role in troubleshooting network issues, implementing security measures, and deploying new hardware and software components. Your expertise in networking protocols, hardware configuration, and security best practices will be essential in safeguarding our clients’ networks against cyber threats and ensuring its reliability and performance. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to support end-users, monitor network performance, and develop backup and recovery plans to minimize downtime in the event of failures or disasters. Your proactive approach to network management and strong problem-solving skills will be key assets in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our network infrastructure.
We have clients across states in Nigeria and the role involves traveling to work out of station (Lagos).
Responsibilities:
- Network Design and installation: Needs analysis
- Network Maintenance: Regularly monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Hardware and Software Installation: Install, configure, and update network hardware and software components, such as routers, switches, and operating systems.
- Network Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve issues related to network performance and bandwidth utilization to ensure optimal network efficiency.
- User Support: Provide technical support to clients regarding network-related issues, including connectivity problems and configurations.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and business continuity in case of network failures or disasters.
- Documentation and Recommendation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and compliance purposes. Recommend suitable configurations after sites visitation and deployment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other stakeholders to integrate network systems with other technology infrastructure and ensure compatibility and interoperability.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ may be preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in network administration or a related field. Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP), network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls), and network operating systems (e.g., Cisco IOS, Avaya, Huawei, Junos).
- Security Knowledge: Familiarity with network security concepts and tools (e.g., encryption, VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to network configurations and security policies.
